What's Happening?
While it's not a widespread issue, some users have reported seeing this error when loading presets that use custom soundsources:
Cannot load Soundsource "XXX" in Directory "User". Try refreshing index in Browser.
This can happen if Omnisphere doesn't properly index newly installed soundsources after installing a soundbank. When that happens, presets may sound different than intended, or in some cases may not play at all.
How to fix it
1. Find the STEAM folder
The default locations for the STEAM folder are as follows:
Mac: Macintosh HD > Users > (Your Name) > Library > Application Support > Spectrasonics > STEAM
Windows: C: > ProgramData > Spectrasonics > STEAM
If you set a custom STEAM location when installing Omnisphere, you'll need to navigate to that location instead.
2. Navigate to the User Soundsources folder
From the STEAM folder, head to Omnsiphere > Soundsources > User
3. Delete the index file
Delete the file zmap.index and then make sure you empty your Trash/Recycle Bin so that the file is fully removed.
4. Relaunch Omnisphere
Open Omnisphere in standalone mode or inside your DAW. When you do this, Omnisphere will rebuild the index file.
